I heard this fascinating story this morning on NPR’s Weekend Edition Saturday, about Michel Bacos, the French pilot of the hijacked plane that was diverted to Entebbe. He died this week, age 95. As Scott Simon observes, “we may all wonder if we would act with courage in the face of … evil.” But with examples like Michel Bacos (and Odd Nansen) to follow, perhaps that choice will be made just a little bit easier.
